NOT GOOD RESULTS..."BUT GOD"

The radiologist report is in from Witt's MRI and its not good. Dr. Macicek came by late last night and told Melanie the list of several abnormalities in Witt's brain. However, even Dr. Macicek could not tell us what it all meant. The neurologist should come by sometime today with much more information. Honestly, it doesn't sound good. We don't know for sure the effect this will have on the transplant possibility but it seems like this would prevent him from being a candidate. If there is anything God has taught me from Witt's life it is "but God"!!!!! I don't know what "but God" completely means in this case at all but what it always means is that God has the final say. Oh, there is such peace in the midst of agonizing pain because I know "but God". I know that Witt's life will be everything that God has deemed it to be...I know that Witt's life will be the exact number of breaths that God has counted even before Witt was born. When I came into Witt's room this morning "A Simple Prayer" was playing. One of the lines says: "When men look at me I want them to see the Light of the World in me." When I look at Witt I see God...I see God's infinite love...I see the Light of the World!

My heart aches for all of you as you face these difficult issues about Witt's care. We pray for wisdom and strength for Melanie and Austan as they seek God's will in these decisions. Rest assured that your faith in word and action are a powerful witness to all of those you come in contact with. To God be the glory for his unfailing love!

We will continue to lift Witt and your family up in our prayers as the answers are not always the ones we want to hear or ones that make your decisions harder. May God continue to be with you each step of the way! Your love for the Lord is such a wonderful thing to see right now when most people tend to question their faith! You are such a wonderful example for others and for Witt to know of our Holy Father.

...but our God is a God who is so much more than our present circumstances! Our God is a God who controls and numbers every breath we take, every fine hair on our heads, and even the seconds we get to be with those we love. Our God is revealing Himself so agonizingly yet beautifully through your entire family, Mel. I love you so much and my heart hurts for the unimaginable decisions you've had to make over the past year. You are such a strong mommy with an incredible husband and even more incredible baby boy! You are such an example for me to follow. You are all constantly in my prayers.

Praying sweet peace over you all. Don't get lost in the details.... after all "with God ALL things are possible". God's handprints are stamped firnly on little Witt's life.... in his short time here he has already been such a light, and changed lives of those he has met.
I really can't wait to see what God has in store next!
