HARD MORNING!

Late last night about 11pm the decision was made to take Witt off the ventilator. He did well through the night but early this morning he took a turn for the worse. Around 6am Witt started fussing. His osat dropped and stayed down. His breathing became increasingly more labored. The doctors were called and the decision was made to give him more diuretic and watch him. Witt still remains off the ventilator but it is still touch and go. The doctor wants to give him every chance to remain off the vent but also knows that Witt could require it at any second. Most of us will never know what it's like to have a crash cart sitting at the end of our baby's bed in case it is needed. Melanie and Austan have lived through many of these kinds of situations. Right now they are both very tired and yet tomorrow afternoon they will meet with Dr. Morales and hear his opinion about replacing the mitral valve. One cardiologist said today that some of them don't think surgery is a good idea...that it might not help...Witt might not even survive...or if he does he might never be able to come off the ventilator. Please continue to pray for God's will. Continue to pray for Mel and Austan as they make decisions. Please pray that right now God is holding all three of them in a very real and practical way that is felt!

I don't even know any of you, but found this site about a week ago. I am drawn to it because of Witt's sweet face (I am Grandmommy to 2 precious grandsons) and that you live in Texas....my home state, even though I live elsewhere now. I simply cannot fathom what you are going through, but I pray every time God brings you to my mind for wisdom for the drs. and peace and strength for your family and healing for your precious Witt. Rest as you can in HIS arms!

I'm struggling to find the right words to convey to all of you what I'm feeling as I read your words. I am praying for God to encircle y'all with love and strength so tight that negativity from the outside will not be allowed to creep in. I keep hearing a song in my head as well...the old standard "I surrender all". It is in God's hands just as it has been all along. I pray for healing for Witt and for his sweet parents, I ask for God's calming force to strengthen them in this difficult time. Thinking of y'all always.

Our hearts and prayers are with you. This morning,I was reading in Psalms and read this verse "Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for YOU are close beside me." I KNOW God is close beside each of you. HE has you wrapped tightly in His loving arms.Thank You, Lord, for shielding them, wiping their tears, comforting them, guiding them, and for all the blessings you have given them. Thank you for being the One in total control!

We continue to put our faith, hope, and trust in God. Praise God! Thy WIll be done, Father.

We love looking at the pictures of Witt because God's light shines right through those gorgeous expressive eyes and his beautiful smile. We love you all so much.

Mel, I don't know if you remember me, I am Molly's friend Jamie. I just want you to know that I think about you often and have started praying for little Witt. I can't even begin to imagine what you are going through and what he has to go through. I can't say much more without crying, so I will just say God bless you and your family. Love the Andersons
