I am a "strnager" ("parent" of Annalee's) but want to celebrate with you. I've been following daily and I am so happy for your good news. My church has been praying for Witt, and I must say this is an awesome witness to the power of prayer! Thank you for your courage and faith - it is an example to me to live by. Amen!

Wonderful news! Praise God that you can bring your precious baby boy home soon (two weeks in and out of the hospital is long enough...even Chick-Fil-A can get old after a while!). May our loving Father continue to hold you all in the palm of His hand!

God is so good and prayer is SO powerful. Just two weeks ago a family broken in grief pulled and grabbed at God's robe. Never letting loose or taking their eyes off the Savior.

What a blessing!!!!!! I get goosbumps thinking about it and I don't even know your family. Still praying here for Witt and your family.

o, the news I hear is that Mr. Witt Harris Lupher will/may “be going home” tomorrow. “Going home” – just words, but SO MUCH MORE; words I thought might never be heard. So what “words” would I use to express what it feels like to hear that news? I would use this picture; the smile on Mel’s face; her holding Witt; Witt… no tubes, no tape. This is a different smile; it speaks; it tells the story – the tears, the fear, the questions.

Mel’s smile is the answer.
The story of tiny Witt Harris Lupher is SO HUGE!

It has all happened so fast that I can’t even put it all together yet; EVERYTHING that has happened these last two weeks; what it all means. Although hearing these words is just the closing of a single chapter of this story, what a _____ chapter it has been. The blank is the key “word” in the sentence. It’s the smile on Mel’s face that “names” this chapter because that smile speaks…. To your heart; it “names” everything that we’ve felt in our hearts through this journey; it IS the answer to all of the questions.
I tried to think of a way to describe, a way to name, the indescribable feeling that I have inside; that smile on Mel’s face…….. “I AM” is what I heard.
“I am that I am” (

Jesus goes on throughout the New Testament ascribing his deity by the use of this word: I am… bread of life, I am… light of the world, I am… from above, I am… the door, I am… good shepherd, I am… resurrection and the life, I am… way, the truth and the life, I am… true vine, I am… Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty, I am… first and the last, I am… he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, I am… he which searcheth the reins and hearts, I am… root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
“I am… way, the truth and the life” – How many questions have we asked about Witt’s LIFE? He is the answer.
He IS this chapter - “the beginning and the ending”.

Witt’s LIFE is HIS story - “which is, and which was, and which is to come”.

“God revealed himself to his people Israel by making his name known to them. A name expresses a person's essence and identity and the meaning of this person's life. God has a name; he is not an anonymous force. To disclose one's name is to make oneself known to others; in a way it is to hand oneself over by becoming accessible, capable of being known more intimately and addressed personally.”
And so Witt’s story is named, “I AM”.
He is Witt’s essence, his meaning and his identity.

In this chapter He has made Himself known. Just as He so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, He has handed us Witt; He has handed himself over to us so intimately through Witt’s life, through his story.
